Polymer lithium battery discharge C rate and the correct way to charge and discharge. Lithium polymer battery is a kind of lithium battery with gel electrolyte and soft packing, also known as soft pack lithium battery. For new polymer batteries, because the battery will automatically enter into a dormant state after a period of time, when the capacity of the polymer battery is very low, and will also affect the shortening of battery life.
Ⅰ Polymer lithium battery charging and discharging methods
1.Discharge
Polymer lithium battery discharge current shall not exceed the following standards, discharge must be carried out within the scope of this standard
The discharge current of single battery must be less than 2C5A.
The temperature range of lithium polymer battery discharge is -20~+60℃.
The termination voltage of single cell discharge is not less than 2.75V.
2.Charging
Polymer lithium battery charging current and charging voltage shall not exceed the following standards, such as exceeding the specified value may cause damage to the charging and discharging performance of the battery cell, mechanical properties and safety, and may lead to heat and leakage
Lithium polymer battery charger must be able to charge with constant current and voltage.
The charging current of a single battery must be below 1C5A during charging.
The temperature range during charging is 0~+45℃.
Polymer lithium battery charging voltage can not exceed 4.23V
3. Over-discharge
It should be noted that during the long unused period of the battery cell, it may be in some kind of over-discharge state with its self-discharge characteristics. In order to prevent the occurrence of over-discharge, the battery cell should be recharged periodically to maintain its voltage above 3.0V. Over-discharge can lead to loss of cell performance and battery function. Cannot over-discharge the single cell below 2.5V.
4. The specific application of lithium polymer battery requires the addition of qualified protection circuit board.
Ⅱ Polymer lithium battery discharge C rate:
C: the ratio used to indicate the size of the battery charging and discharging current, i.e. the multiplier. For example, for a 1200mAh battery, 0.2C means 240mA (0.2 multiplicity of 1200mAh), and 1C means 1200mA (1 multiplicity of 1200mAh). Charge/discharge efficiency is also related to C (multiplicity), under the condition of 0.2C, the charge/discharge efficiency of lithium polymer battery should be 99.8%.
That is: charging and discharging multiplier = charging and discharging current / rated capacity; for example: rated capacity of 100Ah battery discharged with 20A, its discharge multiplier is 0.2C. Battery discharge C rate, 1C,2C,0.2C is the rate of discharge of the battery: a measure that indicates how fast or slow it discharges. The capacity used is discharged in 1 hour, which is called 1C discharge; and in 5 hours, which is called 1/5=0.2C discharge. The capacity of a battery can generally be detected by different discharge currents. For 24AH battery, 2C discharge current is 48A, 0.5C discharge current is 12A.
Ⅲ Correct charging and discharging of lithium polymer batteries
Charging: the charging and discharging of polymer lithium battery and liquid lithium battery are actually the same. There are mainly two ways: constant voltage charging and constant current charging, or both can be crossed. In constant current charging, the capacity of the battery is increasing with time, the internal resistance of the battery is also increasing, and charging becomes slow. At this time we should not think that the charging is completed, but also after a period of slow charging. The general manufacturer of polymer lithium-ion batteries in the battery charging time is first used in the constant current for charging, in the use of constant voltage current for charging. Current, voltage and cell phone power are changing over time, which also ensures that the cell phone battery can be quickly filled.
Discharge, discharge I think we are all clear, usually we just turn the phone on even if it is discharging the polymer battery. But in the test, often use constant current discharge way to test the battery performance in all aspects. We usually use the phone, if you find that the battery is hot, or the phone is hot. To turn off the phone in time, wait for the phone or battery to cool down before using it. Because the heat indicates that the voltage inside the battery is unstable, and the voltage output to the cell phone is also unstable. Such a discharge is not allowed, we should try to keep the battery discharge constant, so that we can extend the service life of the cell phone.
Ⅳ Other instructions for use of lithium polymer batteries
To prevent possible leakage, heat generation, and explosion of lithium batteries, please observe the following precautions:
1. It is prohibited to disassemble the battery cell under any circumstances.
2. It is prohibited to immerse the battery in water or seawater, and it cannot be exposed to moisture.
3. It is prohibited to use or place the battery next to a heat source, such as fire or heater.
4. It is prohibited to heat or throw the battery into fire.
5. It is prohibited to solder the battery directly.
6. It is prohibited to charge the battery near a fire or in a very hot environment.
7. Prohibit the battery into the microwave oven or high-pressure container.
The above is the polymer lithium battery discharge C rate and the correct method of charging and discharging, in the charging process, we should try to use the original charger, and the best charging method for polymer lithium batteries is slow charging, if you want to charge as soon as possible, repeated charging and discharging the same will affect the life of the battery.
